Officials property owners to thoroughly review their entire mailing and to promptly contact the Kaua’i County Real Property Assessment office if any errors are found.
Property owners can also access information regarding their property characteristics, values, and historical data online, including their assessment notices by going to: kauaipropertytax.com
The notice contains essential details that aid in calculating a property owner’s real property tax bill, including market value, assessed value, total exemptions, net taxable value, and tax classification.
If you believe there is an error in market value, tax classification, exemption amounts, or property status, you must file an appeal with the Kaua‘i County Board of Review by December 31. A $75 deposit fee is required for each appeal.
If you do not receive your notice by December 15, please reach out to the Real Property Assessment office at 808-241-4224, via email at [email protected], or by visiting or writing to the office located at 4444 Rice St., Suite A-454, Lihu‘e, HI 96766.
Additionally, be sure to review the updates for the 2026 Property Tax Relief Program included with your assessment notice, which provides important information about exemptions and filing requirements.
