California development company, Meridien Pacific, recently purchased 25 acres near Kiahuna Golf Course in Poipu, and plans to build 280 luxury condominiums, aiming to deliver approximately 50-75 units per year. The unit mix will include 2-bedroom, 3-bedroom and 4-bedroom units, with prices ranging from $1.05M - $1.37M, according to Gary Pinkston, president and founder of Meridien Pacific. Amenities at the project are planned to include a full-service restaurant and bar, a clubhouse, two pools and an exercise track that will run around the perimeter of the project. The project's name is Kauanoe O Koloa, which is Hawaiian for 'misty rain of Koloa.'
Meridien Pacific has experience building on other islands in Hawaii, and hopes to start building speculative homes in nearby Kukui'ula starting next year, at a ate of 15 homes per year.
